Plan your visit to Fish Creek
Where Fish Creek sits, how to use it as a base for Peninsula State Park, and what to expect in each season.
The practical bits
- Position
- West shore, between Egg Harbor and Ephraim on Highway 42
- Best for
- A walkable base with a state park on the doorstep
- Parking
- Limited in the village; arrive early in summer
- Season
- Busiest July and August, active spring through autumn
Making the most of it
Fish Creek rewards a two-night stay more than a flying visit. Give one day to the village and one to the park, and keep an evening free for a performance or a long dinner.
If you are driving the peninsula end to end, Fish Creek is the natural midpoint on the bay side: south of Ephraim and Sister Bay, north of Egg Harbor and Sturgeon Bay.
A two-day outline
-
1
Day one
Walk the village, visit the harbour and galleries, then drive into the park for sunset.
-
2
Day two
Beach and trails in Peninsula; Eagle Bluff on the way through; theater in the evening if scheduled.
-
3
On the way out
Take Highway 42 north to Ephraim or south to Egg Harbor rather than retracing the same road.
